Period Joinery and Carving

Joinery is both hand and machine cut. You may ask why not all joinery is handcut as in the original furniture constuction in the 18th Century. Modern machines were not used then. But even now, machines cannot do it all. We hand carve many of our moldings and legs. Fan drawer and newport shell patterns are all hand carved. Carvings on period furniture enhance the appearance and add to the value and cost.

Finails for pieces are turned and hand finished. Flutes are carved by hand. Each item may appear to be slightly different which is the mark of a true custom item

Chippendale ball and claw leges are hand carved. Each leg is nearly identical. These take many hours to carve and finish.
